We have lived here for a year, and found it to be a mostly pleasant experience.

We do not frequently interact with the management, but when we have they have been very cordial and helpful.

To address several issues that have been raised by some other reviewers here:

-The A/C and heat has worked great for us. Our electric bills have been quite low; never exceeding our expectations.

-The water is fine. Sometimes it takes a minute or so to get hot, but that's happened everywhere we've lived.

-Noise: it is rare that we hear noise from our neighbor. In general, the complex is very quiet. The noise from the train nearby has never interrupted our sleep, nor any other activities.

-Parking is not ideal (no personal spots), but it has always been adequate. In contrast to another reviewer, we did receive two guest tags.

-Traffic at the entrance to the complex can sometimes be frustrating, but usually only on game days. The closeness to campus that the location affords has always made up for that difficulty.

-Apartment quality is not great, but is sufficient. Kitchens are small! Bedrooms are adequate. Bathroom is ok, but sink and shower are a bit old. Living room is fine, but patio door is difficult to open. If you really intend to use the outside portion(patio/balcony), don't live on the first floor. Not a lot of storage space inside, but bedroom walk-in closet is convenient.

-Maintenance and groundskeeping is GREAT! They are so nice and helpful. Once, a water pipe broke in our neighbors' apartment and our floors became soaked overnight. We called management, and within hours, maintenance (with the help of a local cleaning servce) came in and totally fixed our floors. We didn't even have to move our own furniture--they did it all.

-Pool is good. It is underused, but we enjoy the solitude.

-Rent is fairly reasonable for what you get.

-Laundry can sometimes be a pain, as almost everyone waits till the weekend. Some of the dryers do not dry well, but washers are very efficient. Bring many quarters.

-Safety: we have always felt safe, even walking around at night.

-Overall, nothing spectacular, but nothing really bad either. Location is key.
