DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!! The management is the worst I've ever experienced!

I'm normally not one to write comments or complaints, but I feel that this is way too important and I don't want anyone else to get screwed over the way I did. First of all, I sublet my apt. for six months. When I first moved in, I was extremely thorough with my walk through. I wrote down every single little scratch and stain that was throughout the apt. My roommates had dogs, yes even though they weren't allowed, for three of the months. The dogs peed everywhere including in their beds. When I moved out, since we had individual leases, I expected to not owe any money for damages. I was present for the walk-through and the inspector said everything looked good. However, when I got my letter from University Commons about the security deposit, I was charged for a new mattress. Not only did I think that it was not possible to do damage to a mattress in six months of living there, I was being charged for a mattress in my roommate's (with the dog) room. When I explained that to the management, she wanted to hear nothing of it. She would not hear my story, but insists that I pay. I've talked to several other people that have lived there and they've said the same thing about the mattress. I think University Commons just wants someone to pay for new mattresses for them. Not only are my complaints solely from this issue, while I was living there, there was a dead bat that stayed in our hallway for over a week. I'm not exaggerating, I literally saw this bat's body decompose. I told managment about it the first day that it had been there, and it took over a week for them to pick it up. I would never recommend this apartment complex to anyone. The management sucks, and the rent is way overpriced! I live in brand-new duplex now that is a 3 bedroom 3 bath for $300 a month. I wish I would of looked harder the first time I was moving.
