The other negative reviews for this complex do not surprise me. Our big problem was a fridge with an ice maker that got clogged up and was unusable. It had been clogged for years as I knew the previous tenants and all of them, at different times, told management about the problem but nothing was done (to this day it is still clogged). Unfortunately, while I was there the accumulation of ice forced the water to come on and flooded the kitchen and leaked downstairs. I got home from work and the owner was there mopping up the floor and started yelling at me for leaving the ice maker turned on and clogging up the chute. I tried to explain to him that the flap was broken and was allowing moisture to accumulate and freeze over time but either he did not understand physics or was trying to intimidate me.
His reaction stank of corruption so I hired my own repair guy (a certified GE repairman) to come diagnose the problem before "his" repairman could look at it. We got a letter from management stating that we were responsible for damages and in the next paragraph they basically admitted that they did not yet know the cause of the problem (but somehow it was our fault). I contacted my attorney friend and wrote a detailed letter to management and mailed it by certified mail along with the diagnosis by the repairman. They responded and it looked like the situation was turning into a pissing contest but they ended up backing down.
The moral of the story is if you want to make a complaint be sure to type it up, sign it, make copies and send it to them by certified mail. This way if a small problem turns into a big problem you have yourself covered.
Other than that, the location was excellent and the units were very spacious!
