Worst Place I've Ever Lived

The apartments are old and inefficient. The insulation in the walls is nonexistent, the windows and doors are not properly sealed and all of the floors creak loudly in the upstairs apartments making it difficult for anyone on the first floor to get and peace and quiet. Your electric bill will run well over $200 in the summertime. Appliances constantly need repair because they're never fixed correctly. They do the initial walk through for you before you move in so you can't write down all of the faults in the apartment but they don't tell you that until they've already finished so they can keep your deposit. The staff is not the least bit helpful and sometimes even a little rude.

Before I moved in here I called the electric company and found out what the last 3 months bills were on the apartment # that I had planned to move into before I signed the lease. It is better to be on the first floor than a 2nd floor apartment because of the utility situation and these apartments are old and not well insulated. My highest bill was 100.00 -110.00 in the Summer but I am very conservative. I turn the thermostat back when not at home. Little things can add up when it comes to utilities. Also keeping the air conditioning filter changed helps and keeping your hot water use down as much as possible. The biggest culprit on the electric bill is the air cond/heating and the hot water heater...The air conditioners are very old here and that runs the bill up.........until they replace the old appliances and ac's utilities will be high. You can't open the windows and get any air in in cooler weather to help keep utility cost down because the solar screens restrict the air flow so we are stuck using the air conditioners. Actually if you figure the rent and the higher utility bills here it might be cheaper to live somewhere else and pay a little higher rent and have lower utilities and come out about the same.
