Horrible! Party and Crime CENTRAL!!

First off, I was so excited to be moving into what I thought was a really nice, luxury apt complex for my first place. Let's just say that I had parties directly outside my HUGE THIN windows at least once a week, and I called the cops and management about the problem and they said it's a common problem...but no one ever shows up. Also, I thought I was imagining something because I use to hear someone SCREAMING "HELP SOMEONE CALL THE COPS!" in the middle of the night. Well, one night after coming home late from the store, I walked into the hall of my building to hear someone being THROWN and BEATEN inside their home with yelling and pleading involved. So basically, I called the cops and management, and AGAIN. No one showed up. For all I know someone died that night and no one ever came. It was the most horrifying experience of my life.
Another thing, if you are looking for a "quiet, home-like" apt, then this is DEF not for you. The majority of people living here are college aged kids who party til dawn. With the construction of this place being so feeble, you can hear anything and EVERYTHING. Almost every night I woke up to the LOUDEST banging noise that you would usually hear from someone slamming cabinets OVER and OVER for HOURS. I cannot begin to tell you how many times I called management about noise complaints. Seriously. Horrible.
I had numerous problems with plumbing and my a/c and would call maintenance, but the problem never got fixed. In fact, I walked out of the bathroom after taking a shower one morning to hear someone trying very hard to get into my home, claiming to be maintenance, but the problem had been called in over 3 weeks ago! Talk about a rude awakening! This happened 2 other times. I know that as the owner of the complex, they are allowed to enter your home, but COME ON! I had valuable and expensive things in my home and I did NOT want ANYONE coming in on their own accord and being able to snatch the first thing they saw. They do NOT respect privacy here.
Lastly, when I moved out I had everything steam cleaned and polished. They tried to charge me $600 to replace carpet that looked immaculate! They said the had to completely re-paint and re-carpet the entire apartment! Bull-Crap!! I refuse to pay a dime and changed my number because as far as I am concerned, that place is in need of SERIOUS improvements. Save your money and your sanity. It's NOT worth living there.

I called the cops only twice because there was a family directly across from my door in which someone was OBVIOUSLY being beaten. She used to SHRIEK for help at 3 in the morning, over the course of weeks. Yea, so I called the cops. It could've saved her life. And another thing, I think that having a tail-gate party with beer and loud music DIRECTLY, and I do mean DIRECTLY in front of your bedroom window at 2 in the morning, warrants a call from the police if they refuse to be courteous. There are laws regarding such behavior. Again, I only called twice in the entire year I lived there BECAUSE I understand that such is the consequences of living in an apartment. I never once called the cops for the people above me. I never even knocked on their door, because I didn't want to start any problems. So please, save the judgment for someone else.

The reason cops are not going to show up for loud music at night is because they have better things to do. As for the chick screaming that her man was kicking her butt, you should have stayed out of it because 9 times out of 10 they are still together right now. My friend used to be a cop and he said that domestic violence cases are the worst because they would deal with the same couples over and over again. the chicks will literally try to attack the cops for arresting their husbands. And it's the chicks that usually go bail them out of jail. Some women like getting the crap beat out of them. If she doesn't like it there are a million and one resources out there to get her out of the situation.
