Eviction notice given by mistake

I had a note on my apartment door, telling me that I must vacate within the next 3 days. I contacted the office, and they put my rent on someone else's account, and it made my account appear delinquent. How does that happen' Wouldn't they notice the name on the check, obviously does not match the tenant, which they applied the rent to. Also, Why would someone overpay their account with a separate check.
Also, I NEVER GOT A PHONE CALL, LETTER, OR ANY CORRESPONDENCE TELLING ME I WAS SUPPOSEDLY LATE ON MY RENT, OR ELSE THIS WHOLE SITUATION COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED.
I was never late on my rent, so it should have been obvious, there was a mistake

They are terrible at payment processing and keeping records. This is not unusual.
I just love how the staff write anonymously. LOSERS!
