The area director of Milestone Management issued a letter dated May 26, 2009 making tenants aware of an on-site armed robbery and vehicle break in on May 24, 2009. This is a gated community and I would like more info but staff is not talking. Does anyone know the details' Was it a home invasion' Did it happen at night while a family was assumed safely sleeping in their apartment' Was a tenant or guest crossing the parking lot with gift bags' Did the tenant know their perpetrator' Was it random' Was it in a secluded area or near the parking lot' I would like details. Wouldn't we all. Did the area director volunteer to make us aware or is it law' Why are they not giving specific details to help me feel less concerned' Am I supposed to report the tenants who appear to use drugs' Of course, I'm not! If no one else is telling, I'm not going to be the snitch. Do they really do background checks on illegal immigrants'

Like you, I believed that criminal background checks were standard with most reputable complexes, but learned otherwise during my tenancy with CPR April 04 - 05. We actually had residents in one apartment who could be seen looking in car windows at night. Police were often called out, but it took some time to catch them. They even had some of their "take" in the apartment. Many Katrina tranferees were moved in since CPR had quite a few empty apartments available and received funding for accepting them without question.

Apparently the armed robbery happened at the mailboxes around midnight on saturday. Don't know about the breakin though. I live right near the mailboxes and we decided to not renew our lease no matter what. We're doing whatever we can to get out of here. We've been here 1 1/2 hears and they've gone through 3 property managers and every time a new one comes, the place gets worse and worse. What happened on Saturday definitely made up my mind on moving.

Why don't they just raise our rent some more and hire a security officer?
