At the time we thought about moving in, apartmentratings.com gave this place a 27% approval rating. We though it was just people angry about being evicted, BOY WAS I WRONG. When moving in, our stovetop was bent as though someone sat on it and the main burner didn't work. Kitchen tiles were coming up and the blinds needed repair. It took 2 months to get them fixed. The week those items were fixed our microwave went out. Its been 6 months and still it has not been replaced.
I opened a ticket with the office regarding the microwave and was told that it would be on order and should arrive in 2 weeks. When that time passed I again asked about it and was told they were looking for a replacement. Several weeks later I was told it was awaiting approval. The last time I asked about it I was told Mgmt had no idea what i was talking about. Sickened, I bought my own microwave and informed Mgmt; later I received an email stating that my maintenance ticket had been resolved...apparently it was resolved by me buying my own damn microwave, way to go.
About this time some people moved in upstairs, 4 people and a toddler living in a one bedroom unit, clearly in violation of the lease. After several police calls for pot parties, fighting and screaming at all hours of the day, and two broken windows I complained to the Mgmt about our new upstairs neighbor. Their reply to me was, and I quote, "Well, if it happens again, call the police, unfortunately there's not a whole lot we can do about it". Right, because after all, your just the freaking Landlords.
Then came the hurricane and my broken window. After a month they fixed the broken paine of glass but my inside top window sill continues to leak to this day. When I ask about it I'm given the same response, "there's nothing in the computer" and "I don't know what your talking about".
Then there's the non existent laundry facilities. The washers and dryers never worked well to begin with and since they were free you have no recourse. Finally they took them out 2 months ago and have yet to replace them. Same goes for the gym machines. The cross country skier has had a broken right foot pedal for 2 months.
All in all, this place is not 'as advertised'. Stonegate pretends its a "Luxury Apartment Community" but what you get is Wal-Mart quality. Sure, I haven't seen crack dealers and cars on blocks, but I expect a lot more for $700-$800 a month. I can get the same type of service and quality of living elsewhere for $200 less. For the same price I can live in brand new places like Rock Creek, or River Stone with hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, and hey, maybe even a competent management staff.
Bottom line, take your money elsewhere.
