If you read through these messages I have defended Village from a lot of misleading, angry posts. Well, it's my turn to be angry. Seems they are letting a lot of people in the apartments so their loyal tenants aren't very important any longer. Every year for five years, I've signed my lease on the last day or close to it...I'm a procrastinator by nature -- they know me, rent on time everything else the last minute. I also called them to let them know that's what I'd be doing this year.

When I received my renewal notice, I called them up and they said they could take 1/2 off the rent increase, another standard behavior. I said I'd see them the week before the lease expired. They've set a precedent letting me do this every year. They don't remember the conversation.

Today, I spoke with yet another new manager, Maria. She seems nice but I get the feeling she doesn't really care. She spouted about her waiting list for apartments, her high occupancy rate. Let me know that while she'd be happy for me to sign a lease at the originally quoted rate, if not, she had someone who would love my apartment.

In the past, there have been MANY personnel changes but I've always believed they cared about their tenents. As long as we obeyed the rules, they would treat tenants well. I don't think the new regime is like that, it makes me very sad.

I will say that maintenance is the best I have ever seen at any apartment complex. Professional and exemplary.

I have always been honest out here because many people get mad for their own reasons and post lies. The truth is that the buildings while renovations have been done are old. They are once again going to renovate but the electrical wiring is old so electric is higher. Insulation is a joke so you have to run a/c and heat more. They have a security guy now and are almost done with security gates. I will say that while I will probably sign my last lease here this month, I will not feel the same about living here because Aimco must only care about the bottom line.

you say the secutirty gates are almost up, but they just finished its 3/23/08!!!
