Attention Dallas Fire Inspector and Broadstone/Alliance: This Building is a tragedy and lawsuit waiting to happen

I've lived at 2929 for a year and admit got suckered into the move-in discounts and the amenities--wood floors, granite counters, and stainless steel appliances et.al. However, my safety isn't worth that.
How this building ever passed code is beyond me. The freight elevator is constantly broken and as others have said the gates are often left open due to malfunction or destruction. Often times, the outside doors are left propped open. And when the power goes out, or heaven forbid if there is a fire--you are screwed!
Good luck navigating through a rat maze in the dark to find a fire exit that isn't locked. And if by chance you do make it to the stairs, have fun going down up to four flights in the dark.
As far as the management girls: Either they are not empowered to make any changes or they're just clueless. I'm betting on the latter. Their explanation for the building's issues: "that's just the way it was built."
Save your money. I'm outta here at lease end.
