The apartments are cute (inside and out), and my roommate and I love our floorplan. We got a good deal for a great amount of space.

For the first couple of months that we lived here, Sarah was the apartment manager and she was always very helpful. We had the neighbors from hell upstairs (a young married couple, her brother, his 6-year-old daughter, and two dogs -- how they all fit in a two-bedroom apartment, I don't know) who constantly make noise. The 6-year-old runs around chasing the dogs, jumping off the couches, etc. all the time. She runs/jumps so hard that our ceiling fan strings swing back and forth. I called Sarah about them, and she told me they would be receiving a letter and was very willing to help.

Two or three months after we moved in, Jennifer took over her position. Our neighbors were still so annoying, so I called Jennifer. She told me there was nothing she could do about it; that it's "impossible to control what a little girl does." As long as she wasn't making noise in the middle of the night, then it was okay. RIDICULOUS. If you have any control over your kids, they will do what you tell them to do. Come sit in my living room for an hour and try to tell me her running and jumping can be ignored. So we had to deal with it nearly EVERY SINGLE DAY for a year.

We also had a problem with our heater from November to December. It broke SEVEN times. The heat would be turned on to 80, for example, but the heater blew out freezing cold air. Therefore, it would never shut off because it never reached 80. The maintenance was great; they showed up when we called, but why couldn't they ever fix it for good'! We then had an electric bill $100 higher than our normal winter electric bill. I went into the office to talk to Jennifer, and she told me they wouldn't reimburse us because maintenance responded when we called them. True, but #1) if the heater breaks at 8AM, and my roommate and I are gone all day while it's trying to blow "heat," then I can't call maintenance until I get home from work at 6PM. And #2) if we have to call them THAT MANY times in six weeks because they can't fix it for good, then reimburse us for something! It was obvious while I was in her office that she couldn't stand us... I called Laramar instead, and the next thing I knew, Jennifer was calling me to reimburse us a big $30 -- because I called her boss.

The apartments are cute and in great condition for being 12 years old, but as long as Jennifer is managing, you'll have to put up with a woman who hates her job, doesn't know how to be reasonable with reasonable people, and who rolls her eyes at you when you walk in the office about a problem.
