I am the ex-manager...

I used to be the manager of 5400 Live Oak, but I got my real estate license and have recently quit to pursue an awesome opportunity elsewhere that I could not pass up. I worked for Power Properties for 4 and a half years and short of a few of my slanderous neighbors, it has been a great experience. I thought living on site would be really cool - getting to know a lot of people I thought I had things in common with. Unfortunately many of them took advantage of the fact that I gave them verbal warnings for longer than I should have instead of giving them lease violations right from the start. I have warned Power about this and they are taking precautions to make sure that these heathens don't begin to multiply and poison the place. One neighbor hit on me and has taken out his frustrations by claiming I did not respond to his requests, despite the fact that I forwarded EVERY one of them into work orders and have printed emails to document each incident. Two other neighbors who live there together have also taken advantage of my nice-ness as well. The male of the two had a drum set when they first moved in, which I had to tell them to dismantle for playing at 3:00 am. I also had to tell him not to pop firecrackers in the pool. These incidents were spread out so it's hard to say you are going to just evict someone from one or two isolated incidents...It's no wonder they want to slam me and say that I do drugs even though it is quite the shoe on the other foot, truth be known. It is funny to me that a bartender would make such an accusation - how many sober bartenders do YOU know' Anyway, being that I am not out to slam anyone outright because that is not my aim...you can see where they would be frustrated with me. God forbid I do my job and have to tell them what to do! I have lived at 5400 Live Oak for 3 and a half years. I love the palm trees and sound of the waterfall outside my picture window when I'm sitting in my living room. Having free laundry is great - especially so close by, and I love my hardwood floors. My apartment also has a ton of storage, which seems extremely hard to come by in apartments with any character these days. I also have an assigned parking space (which we all do) so I am confused about why the person who slammed me here in October wrote that there was no parking there due to the "SMU kids". My guess is either they were new there or ignorant (neither of which would surprise me). Even though I am leaving Power, I still plan on sending them a lot of business, and will continue living in my apartment as well because as I said despite a few a**holes, it has a beautiful courtyard, is close to downtown, and most of the neighbors are really great. It has been a great experience, as I hope it will continue to be.
