Lots of good, some bad

I live at Amli now and will re-new my lease when it is up but wish I financially had an option to determine if it's what I really want to do. I definitely had some problems when I first moved in. They painted my walls for me but used a totally different color from the one I had chosen and it took several days for the maintenance to fix it. During this time, I had to lock up my pet for three days while I worked b/c they could never give me a specific time as to when they would fix it. A certain person in the leasing office always seemed annoyed when I came by to ask about it like she was hoping I would give up. I didn't. I ended up not having to pay for the paint job but it was a huge hassle I wish I didn't have to deal with. I also didn't get new carpet upon move-in, so if you move here, make absolutely sure it says new carpet in your lease, or you won't get it. After these initial problems, I didn't encounter any difficulties for a long time, and truly enjoyed my time here. It is a great location and I have never once questioned my safety. Yes, there has been one or two break-ins since I moved in, but they were in ground floor apts as far as I know, and no community has a clean slate in that sense, even the very expensive places in uptown/downtown. This is why most people don't go for ground floors. They are higher risk. My huge problem with this property has been with the partying at the pool which goes on all summer long with absolutely no regulation. For those of us living over the pool, we are subjected to weekend parties complete with d.j.'s playing the music so loud you could swear the speakers are in your apartment. These parties are every Saturday and Sunday and last well past the sundown. The leasing office obviously could care less when you call to complain and I know from the property monitor that they get several phone calls but the partiers just turn the music right back after the responding guard leaves. I've seen cops show up here on two occasions, and still the leasing office does nothing to regulate this. I'm a professional who works long, hard weeks and depend on my weekends to unwind. I have yet tothat's relaxing weekend this summer and am really disappointed in Amli for allowing this go on continually while so many residents have complained, and when the people causing this racket very rarely live here. I
discovered one reason for lack of response from the management. Last night (a Sunday night) a security guard finally kicked the d.j. off the property, but there was still someone playing music. He apparently couldn't tell the other person to turn off her music was b/c she's a leasing
agent here at Amli. What'! If a leasing agent wants to disturb the peace, it's okay'! That was the last straw for me. The leasing agent, whose name the guard gave me, was the same one who has been unhelpful from the very beginning. She was out there until midnight on a work night. Overall, I don't totally hate this place but the pool is absolutely ridiculous and the fact that I pay more to live over it, blows my mind. If you do move in, go for street views, and to be on the safe side, deal with Paul or Robin in the leasing office.
