AMLI at Cityplace formerly Quarters at Cityplace

I moved in to this complex over a year ago. The problems I have had while living at the complex has been Pidgeons......they poop everywhere. I can not go onto my balcony because of all the disgusting poop. I asked the management to clean it off several times and they said they don't do that. They told me they were going to get nets for the balconies but have'nt herar or seen it yet. They told me when I looked at the place they had alot of social events for the residents to get to know each other....not seen 1 yet in over a year. The gates are constantly broken. The back gate closed on my car the other day and dented the front and when I reported it to the office the girls response was "well why did'nt you just go thru", and the rest of her response was well it's not our fault that our gates don't work properly basically and they are not going to fix my car. My car has been hit in the parking garage 3 times since May 2007. I told her that too and no response from her on that. The management tells you one thing like your rent price then you get a statement with these weird charges on it and when you call to ask they explain it away...like "oh that's just how we have to list it on the statement but your really not getting charged". Don't ever try to use the hot tub during the winter. The water is extremely cold and you would have to sit there and wait for it to heat up probably all day. It is on a times and when it shuts off you have to turn it on again. So it would take forever to get hot. Tenants...(college kids) leave trash everywhere. The water pressure sucks. Trying to take a shower while someone else is using water is impossible. The key fob you have to open the gates never has worked for me so I alwayse have to punch in code like a guest. So therefore I can't use my alarm because no way to turn it on and off. I have repeatedly complained about this with no luck. I think the rent is high for the complex and the amenities. Highland park is surprisingly cheaper than this area. Oh and I almost forgot about the bums and beggars that hang out in the area. I have been approached several times too many by these people at Taco Bell,Exxon etc. When I gave notice to move they started putting flyers on my door to pay $150.00 to have the apartment cleaned for no hassle. I had 2 of my friends help me clean my 1 bedroom apartment and AMLI still charged me $130.00 for cleaning. Coincidentaly my deposit was $150.00. I did not do any damage so I guess that was the only was to screw me out of my rent. BEWARE of these apartments and their lousy management.
