.....in 2 different apartments, 2 different layouts, in 2 different sections of the community. The first apartment we lived in, yes, my husband's truck was broken into once, but that was because he left his detachable face stereo in the truck, which is like leaving a "please break into me" sign on the door. The first apartment, we had great neighbors, totally peaceful & quiet, could never hear anything from the outside when we were inside. HUGE apartment floorplan as well. It's very convenient & well located. The community is surrounded by condos that are owned, so there is a much nicer feel all around this neighborhood(MUCH better than the village area, which to me is totally trashy & full of way too many young punks). Maintenance here has always been extremely responsive to requests, but we haven't had to make all that many either, which is a good sign, but when we have, it's always fixed that same day, or within 24 hours. As far as bugs, yes, we've seen a few "waterbugs" (yes, they are waterbugs, and they only exist in Texas!), but where do you not see them when living in Texas' It's definitely not been excessive at all, and believe me, I would complain, as they freak me out. Our 2nd apartment has been great too, in a different area. The only problem there was the loud, obnoxious neighbors next door, who thankfully moved while we were gone on vacation. So now, it's blissfully quiet again. Because the apartments are older, they were built much better than newer, cheaper apartments are built, so we never hear our neighbors (now that the loud family has gone) & rarely hear noise from the street or parking lot areas (and we are very close to one of the parking areas located outside the gates). Everyone in the community is extremely friendly. And yes, most everyone has a dog (including us), but most people in our area pick-up after their dogs. Landscaping people are here like clockwork every single week, mowing, pruning bushes, planting flowers, and they even clean-up all the leaves, grass cuttings, etc. They even have maintenance people who start working at 7am DAILY, cleaning up all the trash that lazy, thoughtles residents leave lying around (sometimes, sitting right outside their car doors or within extremely close proximity to the dumpsters). This is my 10th apartment in the Dallas & surrounding areas, and I've lived in some places I would NEVER recommend to anyone. Amesbury Parc is a nice complex, and they run great rent specials that save you lots of $$. Not sure about all the complaints listed here, but then again, some people are just never happy. :-)
