You Get What You Pay For!

I got a good deal for the area. When I moved in I knew it wasn't going to be luxury - but it was cheap.
However when I renewed my lease, market rates had dropped and I was not offered the current rate. (I didn't check this out until it was too late.) Oh - and they charge an outrageous fee to upgrade to a more expensive apartment before your lease is up. I've lived in lots of apartments - never heard of this one before!
Do read the lease carefully, it has some weird stipulations.
The gym is aweful (lots of broken equipment and TVs) and management refuses to invest in it - but it is still listed as an amenity!
As far as the office management, Roy and Erin are very helpful. The other guy in the corner office isn't so great.
Overall, I like the location and haven't had any bad experiences like car theft or major bug problems (the two times I saw a roach - they came and exterminated which took care of the problem.)
