I wish I had anything good to say anymore...

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2005
Before I moved into these apartments, I was assured that the complaints listed on this website were false. Let me assure you that most of them are not. My electric bills are over $200/month over the summer and rarely under $100. This is completely ridiculous for an apartment (I talked to several other residents and their electric bills were all well under $100 for most of the year). The rent is cheap, I'll give them that, but my water rarely works (won't come on, won't go off, won't get hot...water pressure sucks), my air conditioner doesn't cool anything down, my dishwasher doesn't wash dishes, my stove is too small for almost all my pans.
I can't really fault the mainentance guys, they seem to be hard workers...when they get the message. The problem is that I have to go to the office to report problems sometimes 4 or 5 times to get the maintenance guy to my aparment. I mean really, when it's Sunday afternoon and you've just run a nice bath (in the only bathtub that doesn't have grout that was supposed to be resurfaced before you moved in, but wasn't of course), and you go to turn the water off...lo and behold, the water won't TURN OFF. It's an odd problem, and the fourth time it had happened in less than two months, and all you get from the person in the office is a blank look and how she's never heard about that. Shocking, since I had just reported the same problem last week. The only person even remotely helpful in the office is the Assistant Manager.
Parking is all right, as long as you don't mind crawling over bushes and under trees with all your groceries (mostly due to the fact that the office staff parks in front of my building blocking access from the street all day so their precious cars don't get pooped on...but it's all right, I should just call if I need them to move...uh huh, yeah, and they ALWAYS answer the phone), and gates that hardly ever work (the one closest to my apartment was broken for about 6 months, but they have finally fixed it).
Plus, they hold my rent check sometimes for almost two weeks (which I then get punished for even though the money was there for the first week and a half), which is a big prolem, especially if you're out of town and can't access the bank.
For some odd reason the pool has been closed most of this month, and that was one of the big draws of the apartment complex. I guess it's a classic case of getting what you pay for...just think twice about it before moving in.
