I lived here a little over a year. There were many problems I encountered that were completely rediculous.
When we first moved into our apartment we of course hooked up our washer and dryer. When we plugged in our dryer it literally blew up. We called a repair man to look at our dryer (warranty with Lowes). He told us the electrical wiring was what caused the explosion (minimal just melted the inside and top of the dryer). So we called the office to fix this problem and demanded them to pay for our dryer. They fixed the electrical but told us they would not pay to repair the damage or buy a new dryer. So immediately after moving in I had to buy a new dryer on top of my first month rent, pet deposit, and the regular high deposit.
A couple of months after moving in we then started having a leak from our living room wall. We were on the first floor. Evidently it was coming from the windows and just got so bad it was coming down the whole wall. I called them and told them about it and they kept saying they would come and fix it. I called at least twice a week for three month. The water started molding and the entire wall was wet even around the electric plugs. I finally called 311 and spoke to the building code inspector for Dallas and alerted them about the leak, fire hazard, and mold (this is after three months remind you). Then the apartments sealed the leak on the outside and painted over the mold. YOU DON'T JUST PAINT OVER MOLD. The wall was still bubbly from the water and mushy because it was so thin from the experience. They should have replaced the wall.
About six months into the lease our walk in shower tile started falling off. I clean my shower but not so much that would take the grout off the tile to cause it to fall off. When I talked to the leasing office and management about this I was told it was my responsiblitly to take care of this. Do you know how hard it is to tile a shower' Plus some of the tile were broken from falling off and landing on the tile on the floor. Needless to say I really didn't have two bathrooms after six months of living there.
These apartments are too old and need to be torn down. They had a fire in one building and they just keep it there standing charcoal black. Very bad for the sight and is probably filled with vagrants, druggies, and homeless. So needless to say the theft and vandalism is high. The roaches are out of this world. I say that because they are unbelievably large. The rats must make a killing living there as well because I swore when I saw one it looked like a possum.
The leasing staff and management are the worst. They were very nice when we were looking and signing the lease but after they make that sale they turn into monsters. They harrassed me about my two chairs on my patio because they weren't official "outdoor" furniture. They were very nice chairs that were actually nicer than outdoor furniture. I just think after the whole dryer/electrical incident they started to harrass us. Because it was one thing after another.
I wouldn't advise anyone to live here. I left two months before my lease because stuff was just falling apart and the mold that they just painted over was making me sick. These apartments need to be torn down. So renter beware. gkZ41df9CgXQPfm8K2A7
