Better than anything N of University but...

...it could still use some help. Gates are usually broken. When the entrance gates are working, they have them programmed to be open from 5-7, however, they forgot to adjust them for daylight savings so now they're open from 6-8. These apartments are old and you have to expect certain things to break. My floors are so uneven it's not even funny. I have walls that have big bulges coming out of nowhere. Apparently, the plumbing was repaired in the wall behind my W/D and there are now two holes with exposed, capped PVC pipes about 4" in diameter right at eye-level. Parking can be tough at times. I had my high-end mountain bike stolen right off of my SECOND FLOOR balcony as did several of my other neighbors. My lease is set to expire soon and they want me to pay way more that what my new neighbors are paying for the same exact apartment that sat vacant for nearly a year and that upsets me. I guess they'd rather me move out and not collect a dime on this apartment for a year or more than to give a 2 year resident a break. But I guess they really could use that extra money to fix those gates. But no, I won't stand for it. If they don't give me the same deal that they gave my new neighbors, I'm out. I've noticed more and more dumpster divers and that upsets me because they usually leave trash scattered on the ground when they're done loading up their stolen shopping carts. However, the guy that works the grounds is very diligent and does a good job I don't know his name because of the language barrier, but it makes me happy when I see him out working hard trying to keep the place clean. He's relentless. I really can't complain about my neighbors themselves. They are all good, nice people (except for that one jack-ass who drove by the dumpsters and threw out two bags of trash on the ground instead of taking a few seconds to stop his vehicle, get out and put his trash inside the dumpster...and it was on a Sunday when the grounds guy was not here, I had to go out there and pick it up myself). The office staff themselves are really nice. The only one that's still here from when I first moved in is Rachel. Oh...I got home a few weeks ago and found a notice on my door that said that there have been several armed robberies in the complex...yikes!
