Amesbury Parc Apartments

Wish I would have read these reviews before signing a lease....

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2007
First of all, I move in and no washer/dryers. The girl in the office never once said that my apartment just came with connections. I even expressed many times how excited I was that the apt came with connections for the price. Not until the day I moved in and called her did she say "no, just comes with connections". I was not happy.
Then the very first weekend I was there, my bike was stolen off my balcony. They never returned my calls from the messages I left. Not until I continously called each day did I finally get a manager on the phone. Her response was "we never have crime at this complex". I find that hard to believe. I lived in the Village right down the street for years and never had any problem with crime. The manager from Amesbury said they have security that patrols the complex. I've never once seem them. I'm scared to even leave the blinds to my place open during the day now for fear my apartment will get broken into.
The cabinets in the apartment are horrible and very cheap. The ones in another apartment that was shown to me were much nicer than the apartment that was rented to me.
I am a very clean person, and I still have bugs, even though I've sprayed many times. I just don't understand where they are coming.
My balcony floods horribly every time it rains. So much so that you can't even put furniture out there. Not that I would now anyways from fear of it getting stolen.
And then there are a bunch of trashy drunk people that hang outside their apartment in the common where all the other apartment front doors are located. I mean all day and night style. Can't they hang out on their balconies.
I do like the floorplan of my apartment. The size is nice for the price. The kitchen is horribly tiny even for a one bedroom, and the kitchen was dirty as all get out when I moved in. I was so surprised how bad it was. There was even dried cat pee on the side of the fridge. The smell was awful. The office staff didn't care, obviously.
And, last but not least, the bathroom cabinet doors keep falling off. The screws keep falling out. The wood is obviously rotted, and they won't simply move the cabinet doors hinges so it'll be attached to the less rotted part. Go figure.
Unfortunately, I signed a year lease, but I will be moving back to the Village (Lincoln Properties) when it is all said and done. I never had one problem living there, and the only reason I moved to Amesbury Parc was because I was getting a bigger apartment at a cheaper price. It definitely is true that you get what you pay for.
