A living hell hole

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2007

I lived at Amesbury Parc from July 2005 to October 2007, a total of 2.25 years. And while it was okay at first, after awhile, it became a living hell. The absurdly high cost of living, for one, and for another, I had a very awkward and unusual roommate situation in which I had to take care of us both (it's a long story I refuse to go into), and, to top it off, the management changed sometime in 2006, I believe, and some of the new staff were not the most pleasant. For one thing, they had a cavalier attitude about things going wrong, and if something was reported stolen, they got mad at the person and insisted they not be able to renew their lease or something. And yes, the roaches were indeed a big problem!
Furthermore, while I know this has nothing to do with the apartments themselves, I also had an annoying kid to put up with, as he was always coming over all the time! So much, in fact, that my roommate and I felt like we were babysitting except we weren't getting paid! [Never mind what gave this kid incentive to come over in the first place!] Frankly, he became so much of a nuisance that I find myself empathizing with Ray and Debra Barone on "Everybody Loves Raymond" that much more than I might otherwise!
So, to sum it all up, it was a living Hell! Do NOT choose this community! They're falling apart, the rats are also a problem, and, bottom line: I'm glad I got out of there when I did!

(Just in case you didn't get the initial response.)
Oh, really? Well, first of all, I already pointed out the flaws of the apartment complex itself. And I should also add that my roommate was attacked in broad daylight right by the mailbox, and the office seemed loathe to admit that such a thing would even be possible, instead concocting theories and rumors that he was up to no good and "deserved" what happened, when in fact, the attack was without warning and unprovoked.
Secondly, if you think I'm exaggerating the problem with that pesky kid, then why don't you try and put yourself in my shoes (not to mention my former roommate's!)
My roommate also had a bicycle stolen from him, and a neighbor friend of ours did as well, only to complain to the office, for which the office had the nerve to get upset and insist they could not renew their lease.
And I agree what I mentioned about the annoying kid was rather personal, but if there was any point I had in bringing that up, it's that dealing with him on a daily basis didn't make the other problems any easier! Plus, I had to express myself somehow!

It sounds to me like you had more personal problems than you did anything else.
