A college apartment

That's what it was for me, a college apartment, just for one year, and I was not the only SMU student in it by far. It was fine for what it was. I didn't get my "deposit" back, even though there was no damage to the apartment, and they acknowledged I left it in excellent shape (I even scrubbed my roommate's bathroom after he failed to do so when he moved out first), they just never "got around" to sending the check, which is par for the course for most apartment complexes in Texas, to be fair, and I moved to another city after graduation and didn't have time to pursue it further. I never had any problems with maintenance or staff service while I was there, but didn't have anything to ask of them either. I did have my laundry stolen from my dryer, and I did not leave it there a long time at all - less than an hour after I put it in the dryer, came back and it was stolen. Shows the kinds of tenants they get.

I think you are too kind. Of course you lived at the apartment a LONG time ago. Since the apartment will probably be razed once the economy picks up, you cannot expect major refurbishment but you can expect on-site management to be there when people who work can come in. One day a week staying open until 7 would be very helpful as would one half day Sat. or Sun,
