Wouldn't recommend them

All things considered, I wouldn't recommend moving here. This is far away from being a "hellhole" or a ghetto, and I agree with the managements assessment that some of these posts are vengeful attacks, but that said, the cons simply outweigh the pros.

Pros:
The complex landscape is beautifully maintained and quiet (at least in my experience). The insides of the units were nice, and all the appliances looked brand new and worked fine. The berber carpet was a nice change from the usual stuff you find in North Dallas complexes.

Cons:
The apartment staff was apathetic on their best days (however, it's been my experience that personnel at ANY apartment complex tend to be that way?I presume it's part of the job). I've lived all over North Dallas in the last decade, and I can say, with some degree of authority, that Andalusian Gates are ridiculously overpriced. Unless you absolutely need to be in this exact location, you could get far more amenities for less in the area (actually, try the complex right behind them).

The principle con, however, was that upon moving out, I was shamelessly gouged with an unreasonably high move out bill. My roommate, my girlfriend and I spent several days cleaning the apartment to look like it did when we moved in, and were quite proud of ourselves. There was, admittedly, a small tear in the carpet that we expected to have to pay for, and had braced ourselves for a hundred dollars worth of fines. When the bill came in, it exceeded $1500, not only for the carpet, but for random 'cleaning'. Needless to say, we'll be fighting this.

At any rate, the bottom line is you'll get a nice, clean apartment unit and environment, with newer appliances, but you'll have to pay an asinine amount for them (and pray like hell nothing malfunctions). If you decide money is irrelevant, and wasting it is fun, and decide to move in, I have one very strong word of caution: be sure to do a final walk-through with management upon moving out, and take lots and lots of pictures. They will most likely try to get more cash out of you...
