From the outside this place looks fine, but unfortunately it IS located on McCallum and there is no escaping from the crime. Some drunk broke a beer bottle on the rear window of my car, completely smashing it and even scratching the side. When I informed the mgmt and wanted to know what they were going to do about, all they had to say was "if safety was important to you, you should have looked into that before you signed the lease, as ensuring safety is not in the contract". But this is not all the crime that happens here, cars get broken into, just to get a quater out, apartments gets cleaned out (robbed) without breaking the door (makes you wonder whether the maintenance people are involved), cars get spray painted, rowdy people drive around and make a lot of noise (honk, etc.), people from other apartment walk up to you and ask for money - it is a complete ghetto. SO just be prepared if you want to move in here.

i lived here for 1 1/2 years. i personally really liked the model of the apartment and the price. my bedroom closet was huge! i also had storage outside, which is not always included in a one bedroom. there is a lot of space. i like the maintenance. the management was terrible. barbara would always hide in her office and would never return your calls. there employees probably stay an average of 2 months or less. they are very young and don't know anything. my biggest problem with this apartment is safety and noice!! i would hear people screaming at the top of their lungs at each other at 6AM. the noice was really bad too. i could hear everything above and by me. parking was terrible. if you come late at night it is impossible to find a parking spot and you have to walk so far. i parked at the apartment next to me only once, and my car was towed. overall, the ashwood is decent but the apartments surroundings are very ghetto!! i had at least 4 guys bother me. thankfully my neighbor helped me.
