When I signed the lease, the leasing agent gave me the wrong mailing address. All of my mail and checks went to the wrong apartment. The air conditioner was broken when I moved in August. My air conditioner has broken three other times and it caused my electricity bill to skyrocket each time. I used the laundry room until someone stole all of my panties out of the dryer. I transferred to a unit with a W/D hookup. It was a great deal. 720sq. ft for $500! Since it has become Ashwood Park, they are increaseing my rent to market value. Because I am no longer saving any money, I am moving to a nicer apartment with a garage. I had a paid carport that someone else parked in. After a week, the car was towed. They came back and knocked over my motorcycle that was parked there. My car window was broken out at this complex. Every month for 4 months, I got a notice on my door that I owed $5. No explaination for what the amount was for. Even the leasing people couldn t figure out what it could be for either. I finally gave them the money to get them off of my back, after being unable to contact the manager to resolve the issue. Another time, I got a notice along with others, that my rent was overdue when it had been paid early. I had to waste my time waiting for the manager to find my rent payment. I asked a leasing agent how much notice I would need to give to move out. She looked up my information and told me one month. I came in 7 weeks before the end of my lease to give my notice. They said I actually needed two months and I would have to pay a fine of one month s rent because of the insuffient notice. They could not honor what their former employee told me. I told them I would sign a month to month contract for one additional month to avoid the riduclous fee. I would still pay $100 more, but at least I got something for my rent money. I had to call the office to find out where my contract was since it has been a month since I expected to receive it. They had no idea what I was talking about. I am not surprised since the office staff turns over faster than people move out. I have not had a problem with maintanence or pest control.
In conclusion, if you have to live on Mccallum Blvd, this is one of the nicest apartments on the street. Otherwise, keep looking.
