location cant be beat. 5 minutes from grocery store, ballys, barnes and nobles, target. 2 big malls, walking distance. best buy, circuit city, compusa, walmart, enough furniture stores to make you sick, within 2 miles. resturants out the kazoo at beltline, which is about 1 mile away. 635 and NDTollway are right there, and thus 75 and 35 are basically your freeways as well.
my previous unit was at the back of the complex. it was always quiet, save summer afternoons when children noise can be expected. in the mornings people who are being picked up for work... the drivers tend to have a difficult time respecting the community. horns, stereos, and ricer mufflers (that DO NOT make the car fast, but thats another rant for another forum) tend to be the norm. but im sure thats everywhere.
the apartment grounds themself are aged, but well cared for. i have lived in 2 apartments on this property, both were properly prepared for me to move in (new carpets, painting, etc etc). the same goes for many of my neighbors, the point being that apartment units cared for properly between residents.
parking, unfortunatly, is not good. there are significnatly more units than there are spaces. if you have 1 car, you probably will not have problems, but if youre a multi-car family, get ready.
management does care. they are in the middle of a giant facelift (mostly painting) for the whole complex. new grass everywhere, trees trimmed, the place is looking pretty nice. current manager is doing her best to reverse or make right some awkward management decisions of the past.
that said, some people are just plain jerks, and they act that way to the managers and staff, and then they tell everyone they know what -------s the managers are. but they are human just as anyone else, need i say more' ive had as many or more trouble tickets on my apartment as anyone, but they have all been resolved to my satisfaction, becuase i dont begin interaction with bridge burning. if your reading this, and you are a ----, your mileage will vary. im not a ----, and i get anything fixed i need.
crime. ive never seen a crime happen, only hearsay. that said, if you park your car next the fence at ANY aparment complex in dallas (where someone can bash your window grab your stereo and be gone before your alarm cycle finished), youre asking for trouble. but i would bet these are also the people driving around the place advertsing that they have the loudest bassiest stereo please come rob me while i sleep. but, as i said, no one i know personally has ever been robbed. all hearsay. but not that it doesnt happen, but that everyone needs to take their own safety of thier person and belongings into mind at all times.
