What Qualifies As An EMERGENCY '''

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2004
We moved in and had three different leaks in the first three weeks of our lease. The worst was when it rained hard and the patio above us started to leak like a faucet INTO our apartment. The lease contract states that a leak is considered an emergency. So we called the 24 hour emergency contact and it's the maintenance manager. Amazingly he said tough luck and he can't get to it for 3 days. Real nice huh...so we had to empty the bucket every hour on the hour so it didn't overflow. The maintenance manager also informed us that they already knew about the leak prior to us moving in. Now does that make sense' Why did they let us move in prior to fixing the leak'
The manager of the office and staff was apologetic but wouldn't do anything to fix it. I had to call 3-4 times a day to get them guarantee the leak would be fixed'3 days later. All we could get out of them was a "Sorry".
Other problems...it took two weeks of constant nagging to get them to fix the lights outside the apartment. Every day I would get the same excuse...but they never worked on them. Still to this day a month later, two of the four lights still don't work. It's NOT very safe in the dark but they don't care.
When we moved in we were told we would get a gate and garage opener. It took 2 weeks to get that also! Every day I would ask when we would get them...and every day I would get a response that they would be placed in my apartment...Of course it never happened.
This brings me to my next point...They management and/or maintenance loves to come into our apartment without letting us know. Just yesterday I found one of our vents taped up with tape. Now why would they do that' And did I get a notice that they were in the apartment''' NOPE.
