All in all I would agree with what most people are saying here. I would also add that I suspect the laborers, or whatever they are, that work there and handle the trash also go through it. Yes, to fine you for stuff like putting out your trash at night. But, I think if they happen to find something that could be used for ID theft well that is just a bonus for the guy getting his hands dirty. I had an incident of ID theft in which the criminal knew what my signature looked like, my DL number, my account number, and my address. All things that would have been on a canceled check that I stupidly threw away. This habit has been stopped on my part, but I don't know of any other way someone could have gotten all of that info, especially my signature, without going through my trash. Couldn't have been at the dump because the trash is compacted, right'
The scam worked like this. Someone got my DL and forged a license. They then stole someone else's checks. Wrote me a check with the stolen checks, signed using my forged name, went to a branch of my bank (In East Dallas), deposited the check into my account using acct number and fake ID, then requested an amount of cash back from the transaction less than the check amount. They got some cash. I got a bad check and a major headache with the bank. Pretty crappy, and I suspect an employee of the apartment complex did it.
Also, if your wife is nice looking or if you are a young lady who is attractive, watch out because those laborer f**kers are going to be eyeing her/you like a peice of meat.
And if you complain, they will be eyeing you like they want do something about it. That old man with the glasses, especially, is a slimey dude; watch out for him.
And, yeah, they will come into your apartment without telling you anytime they please. I wish they would try when I am home, because that guy would get a nasty surprise.
Actually, now that I write all of this down I would say keep your valuables locked up and don't trust the laborers.
I have not had any problems with the office staff, though, they have been ok.
