I've lived here for about 2 years now(in phase 2) and didn't notice much difference in the changeover from AMLI to Alliance other than staff turnover and initial problems with water bills. The apartments themselves are quiet, though as has been mentioned before there is a small airport nearby. So if the ocassional prop plane or small jet flying overhead(and it is directly overhead) is a problem for you, I'd stay away from this area. Also, the floors aren't very thick it seems. I could hear my upstairs neighbors moving around constantly.

The staff has been generally courteous and Mario from the maintenance staff really busts his behind to make sure problems are fixed(seriously, this guy is awesome and friendly). When I call them for maintenance requests they're usually taken care of in the next day or so, and almost always fixed right the first time(though I have a story about my A/C from when I first moved in, but that was another maint staff from the AMLI days so I'll save it). I like the place and love having a garage, but I'm moving out because the rent is a little high for my tastes. If the rent was $100 cheaper a month I'd probably renew, because this has been the best apartment complex I've lived in in my 6 years in Dallas. If you have a roommate to share expenses with, this place is more than a reasonable price.

One complaint I have is that the apartments were built where your choices on cable TV are limited by the building you're in due to contracts signed by AMLI when the place was built. On one side of the complex you can get Verizon, the other Comcast, but unless you pick those you're stuck with satellite as your only real option. This was a little frustrating when I was trying to save money by taking advantage of an offer by Comcast that would have saved me $40/month on my cable bill.

Like I said earlier, overall this is a good place and the people take care of you if you're willing to pay the rent prices.
