A few months ago, someone attempted to break into my truck. Luckily they either couldn't get in or someone interrupted them and my vehicle was left alone with just minor damage to the exterior door handle. The office didn't seem to care much.

My friend that stayed with me over the weekend wasn't as lucky. We got in from a Rangers game around 11pm on Saturday and Sunday morning found that someone had broken into his truck, taken his stereo and attempted to steal the vehicle. Again I called the office and they offered nothing other than "Come in and fill out an incident report."

I asked them if they have put any thought into what they can do to reduce crime at the complex and they had the nerve to ask me what I thought they should do. They obviously don't care enough to even stop to put thought into what can be done.

Pretty scary thinking that there are people out there late at night looking into everyone's vehicles to find their next victim. It's only a matter of time before vehicle theft turns into a far worse crime.

I do not believe that safety is something that any one can be gauranteed. If, you live in a house or an apartment safety begins with ones self. I have never had a problem here. Maybe you should take a look at who you socialize with.

I'm not asking for anyone to guarantee my safety. Who I socialize with has nothing to do with someone breaking into a vehicle. You probably haven't had any problems with vehicle break-ins because you either ride the DART or don't have anything worth stealing.
