Years at this apartment: 1999 - 2002
I lived there from June 1999 til July 2002. I actually enjoyed living there, having first lived in a one bedroom and then moved over to a 1BR w/den. I was a great resident and had no problems at all, even with the change over of office staff (curious I might add) somewhere late 2001.
I was in a year long lease that was to have expired March of 2003. I am a teacher and received a job offer during the summer in another part of the state. I went and talked to the office staff about if there was any way to be released from lease...MANY APARTMENTS DO THIS. The answer was a firm NO. I had to pay the remaining amount of the lease (8 months worth) or until they rented it. Not only did I have to pay, I was FORCED to turn in keys and did not have access to the apartment. Of course, they had NO incentive to lease the apartment. Why would they' They had me locked in.
I did not trust the management at all and had friends that lived there and around the area check to see if indeed someone was living in my apartment.
This experience ruined an otherwise great experience at Bent Oaks. Great location, great price, great maintenance....crappy management.
PS...keep in mind my rating for the office staff is based on the new staff that took over in late 2001. The previous staff was AWESOME (miss ya Jamie) BuLYzGcKAVo8MQPlcXJq
