I moved in Bruton Oaks in 2006 soon after I married my husband. He chose this place to live before we got married so I had to choice. The place is a dump. The drive thru drug ring, the walk up to you prostitutes, noisy neighbors, nasty neighbors, unruly children whose parents obviously don't know where their children are. The Apartment Staff are clueless beyond belief. They never have an answer for you, they lie constantly. There is always something wrong with the water, air/heat. The place looks like a pigsty, maybe partially due to people who do not care about their surroundings. The roaches are notorious!!! No matter what you do, they always come back. I put in an order for the exterminator in September of 2006 and here it is 2008 and he has yet to show up. When you try to keep mgmt informed of the wrong doings that are going on, they hype you up as if they are going to do something but they never do...even the police don't patrol the property anymore, it has gotten to be too much for even them to handle. I would not recommend this to anyone, no matter if you are trying to come up in life, this place will surely bring you down. Not a good environment for children at all unless you just want to drop them off like so many of the tenants seem to do on a regular basis.
