Looks are deceiving. I waited for years to lease an apartment at Calais. When I first viewed the property the fountains, courtyard and garden were beautiful and so clean. At one point, there were doctors, lawyers and many professional tentants. The new management company is a big joke. The lady in the office talks on her cellphone the entire time she is there when she is in the office. I have several leaks throughout the apartment and when it was reported I was told that the roofers will be out. Of course, that never happen. The courtyard is very dark at night which is a mugging waiting to happen. The garage and security gates are crap. The first night I moved in a guy knocked on my door asking for what I assuming was a previous femaie tenant but later approached my husband in the elevator and asked for someone totally different. Little did I know, the previous tenants were prostitutes and my apartment was a brothel. Let me add I found a sex toy in my closet that the cleaning crew missed. Rats and roaches in the storage rooms were terrible. The management company began letting tenants rent there without a lease and then the drug dealers moved in. In a two week period 6 tenants broke their lease and risked having it on their credit just to get the heck out of there. Some of my friends had waste backed up in their bath tubs and when upstairs residents flused the toilets, waste ran down the wall. The building has a really bad structural problem. Also, waste leaks in the enclosed parking garage. Thank God there were no extremely hot days this summer. This could be and was a great property but thanks to the new management company, it is one of the worse properties in Dallas. It was totally a big let down, so I'm moving on.
