The lake and the ducks are indeed peaceful, but don't let it trick you into moving here. Learn from my mistakes.....see below:
This is, apparently, a high crime area....very unsafe. Unfortunately, I didn't know that when I moved in. I appreciate the crime alert flyers (person knocked over the head and left unconscious in the parking lot, car break-ins, apartment break-ins, the list goes on and on) but I don't like living in a crime zone. I feel nervous every time I come home or leave after nightfall.
My issues started from the beginning. The apartment was not ready on the day that I moved in. It took approximately 1 MONTH before MOST of the issues were taken care of. (There are still issues that they never fixed but I gave up trying after submitting the issues 5 and 6 times).
The office staff changes literally every month which is never a good sigh. When I bring up issues such as noise, excessive dog poop and unleashed dogs, I'm told "we'll take care of it," but I'm still waiting.
One of my neighbors (who's counting down the days when he gets to leave) fixed an issue b/c it was taking the maintenance staff so long. Then, two weeks later they had the nerves to leave a maintenance slip stating that THEY fixed the problem.
Brown spots appear on the ceiling EVERY TIME it rains. When I contact the office about it, maintenance comes and "fixes" the problem, but by "fix" I mean that they make the ceiling white again and ceiling remains white until it rains again and thus the brown spots reappear. I have allergies and I know my moldy ceiling can't be helping.
Also, I am continually finding empty beer cans and bottles on the parking lot...they stay there for days. I could go on and on.
Like my neighbor, I too am counting down the days of my lease. x-2PE3sjUIIeetAHoKOk
