Not worth it.

I've lived here for over a year and this place is nothing to write home about. You've got the typical management problems, i.e. it takes several prompts via phone and may require a face-to-face visit to the office to get your maintenance needs acknowledged. The staff tend to over-promise and under-deliver, so take everything they say with a grain of salt.
My neighbors and I are loving the new sign they have talking about their "7 million dollar renovation". There is no evidence that kind of money was spent on the renovation. I have lived in pre and post-renovation units and the differences are minimal and basic. The carpet in my new unit probably was not new (that new carpet smell that comes from fresh glue was not evident when I moved into the renovated unit), the old cabinets were just sealed or something, they painted the walls beige, put down fake wood floors and fake granite counter tops (they probably just covered the old counters with contact paper with a granite looking pattern), put up some molding, and got some new but lower-end appliances and faucet heads.
There are a ton of vacancies (you can tell because the workers leave the blinds open and lights on) because the management's head is in the clouds about the rent. This is not Park Cities or Uptown or Preston Hollow. This is Lake Highlands/Vickery Park as its east of Central. There is a sex shop and a liquor store to the north, the dart rail tracks to the east, an abandoned parking garage and Central to the west, and some office buildings and an abandoned move theater to the south.
In short, this place is not worth it. It was minimally updated, minimally upgraded, and definitely NOT upscale.
