I don't mind this place..

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2009
Our lease is expiring in a few months & we'll definately be signing our lease again. Granted there are problems with the community but there are also alot of qualities i like about it.
For instance, the valet trash. I LOVE it. Cable already added to my rent, i love that too. If my internet was the same, i'd NEVER leave Camden properties. I understand alot of people have problems w/these, but for me, it's convenient & i don't mind paying for convenience.
Yes, the parking is an issue. Well, a MAJOR issue. Yes, the walls are thin, but COME ON, that's apartment living! The water bill is kinda stupid that they charge one whole section and divide it up, but whatever! (what bothers me is that they have the sprinklers on when it's raining!)
I wish the leasing staff would spend the nite in their show apt to see how it is to live here! How can they sell an apt w/out knowing what goes on at night. Of course, the parking isn't bad during the day! To me, it's reassuring there's a maintenence personnel that lives on property which i think is great, b/c at "least" he knows what goes on. I"m sure the poor dude gets alot of slack from residents about how bad things are & there's only so much he can do. GREAT GUY, btw!! He seems to genuiely care about what goes on. I saw him kick some strange lady out of the pool area the other nite! I wonder if he got compensated for that' KUDOS TO HIM!!!
AS for the crime rate, this is Dallas. Get renter's insurance. They make you get renter's insurance when you move in. (I've always had renter's insurance & it's so worth it!) It cost pennies. I understand how you feel invaded afterwards, i've been robbed before after moving in at another complex, but eventually you gotta get over it. easier said than done, i get it. Unfortunately crime is everywhere, and there's only so much you can do about it. Get to know your neighbors, that's what we did when we moved here. Also when we first moved here, they had the Camden Cares Team & it was very informative but unfortunately, they've gotten rid of it. Too bad. I liked the safety meetings. There is supposed to be a courtesy officer, but i haven't seen him/her. (This is one of the things that attracted us to the property is that they had a courtesy officer, but i haven't seen him/her and that's a real bummer!)
THese are my two cents for what it's worth. check it out, it doesn't cost to take a look at the property. I've lived in several apartments & while this may not be one of the best apartments i've lived in, i like calling it my home.
A content resident.
