My girlfriend and I currently live at Camden Farmer's Market and are undecided as to renew our lease or not.

Pros:
1) Location. It's very nice to be 10 minutes from work. I get home at 5:15 pm and thank God that I'm not on the 35 to Plano with another hour left in the car.
2) Apartments. The units themselves are pretty nice and spacious.
3) Rental agents/employees. I have had very nice experiences with not only the leasing agents but also the other employees working in the front office. They have been pretty friendly and helpful. I've never had any serious difficulties with management, so I can't speak to what might happen if I did. The maintainance guys are all awesome and super helpful. Roy, Eddie, Steve and the rest have a ton of work to do, but whenever I've needed something they've bent over backwards to help me out.

Cons:
1) Unit quality. I will second those that have commented on how the units were put together with very low quality materials. Faucets, tubs, sinks, counters, floors, closet racks, etc. are all low quality plastic/vinyl grade stuff. Water pressure is only so-so.
2) Neighbor noise. Get a top floor apartment or don't even bother moving in here. Every time the people upstairs walk across their apartment it sounds like an elephant moving. We can hear them talk, sing, wash clothes, whatever. Same for the neighbors to our side. The walls are far too thin. Add these two points together and then realize that we're paying over a thousand dollars a month for this place and you can see how we'd wonder if we made the right choice.
3) Security. This has become a pretty big issue since several assaults have occurred in the complex of late. Part of this is Camden's fault and I would not be surprised if they were hit with a lawsuit as a result. Security doors don't shut properly or are left open. The two morons that patrol the area on their little carts at night is Camden's idea of "security." When you visit the place they will tell you that there is a police officer that lives in the complex and is on call, but come on, have you ever visited an apartment where they didn't tell you that' I haven't. I expect to see two cops walking the perimeter with f'ing dogs and laser cannons in this neighborhood. This is one of Camden's most glaring weaknesses and I think they are about to learn the hard way that they cannot cut costs in this department.
4) Gym facilities. What passes as a "gym" is laughable. A few treadmills, elipticals, and some old nautilus equipment. FYI, the treadmills are broken half the time so you have to compete with other residents for the other stuff. It's pretty obvious that they just threw a gym together to be borderline competitive since everyone else has one. They did a pretty poor job. It certainly is not something that they put a high priority on.

So overall the main thing Camden has going for it is location. But you most certainly do not get what you pay for in this instance, as the rental prices are way out of whack for the quality of the units that you are getting. But if you want to live downtown and right off of 75, 30, 35, etc. then maybe this will work for you

I would like to know, what would you do ? How would you change things ?? I would like to know your ideas on changing for instance the tread mills ?? When things are miss treated it breaks and it is expensive to fix, time and time again. Apartment communities don't have this huge amount of money set aside so people can repeatly tear things up. It is our job as human beings to help take care of the things ! Things that are put out for the public or our apartment community for our enjoyment. Everyone thinks that they deserve to have things at their becken call Well, we have to take care of it !All of us!!! NO ONE can keep up with the things that get broken at a public place thats why most place's have a Huge Private membership fee, so they can hire 200 employee's ! Only to watch the cameras and baby sit our socity ! The Gyms, the coffee bars, the nice chairs to sit in, to protect the computer's, to make sure the bascetball hoops are protected ! Because we can't figure out what Normal use of wear and tear ! What respect is, I don't care if it breaks it's not mine! I don't care if I break this computer its not mine ! When you get Bubba and his band of 5 year olds,( wearing an 18 year old's body)that have never been taught respect! Just slamming into the hallways, breaking the pool chairs, throwing up in the elevator's ect..! No apartment community can keep up with this !And they shouldn't have to ! NO business, should have too! No one can afford what we allow the youth of today to get away with.

Noise, I can't believe you want to talk about noise !! You live in the CITY, right BY THE busy place in the CITY !!! Oh my GOODNESS!!! Have you ever been in any of the HIGH rise's downtown that PEOPLE actually PURCHASE??? Guess what they are loud !!!! You are in the inter city !!! IT's loud PERIOD !! you cant stop it !!!!
Either start putting your foot down and start helping your community, just like at SCHOOLS people volunteer !!!! EVEN the schools can't help what goes on, and they a have a millon dollar budget !!! Apartments don't !! Quit Moaning and Complaining DO something !!!!!Change something !!!! Quit complaining !! Find a Solution !! I am quite sure Apartment Managers and leasing agents aren't making millon's either and I am sure they do what they can !!!! No one lives at their job !! What in the world do you want done ????? Find a solution that doesn't cost above the BUDGETED AMOUNT and write someone with the answer's !!!
OR GO BUY A HOUSE AND LEArn what it takes to clean a pool everyday, cut the lawn, repair the mower, fix the copier, oops all my light bulbs out, what the Frig is leaking ! The dishwasher is flooding, oh my goodness, I don't have the money.....how am I going to GET THAT FLAT TIRE FIXED and get to work ! My lawn mower is broken OH my goodness, I guess I will fix that flat tire first to go to work, because I need a job to have the money and I won't get to work without a car!! Had that kid throwing newspapers not hit my window in the front of my house..and the man next doors roofing people didn't leave nails on the ground, I wouldn't have a flat but it did so I will try to fix all that other stuff later because right now I have to get to work so its my tire first....I might have been able to fix that.....but....my mower broke,,,,,,now now it's my tire....where does money come from !! My mother used to say....I thought money grew on trees !!!!!!!!!! Oh NO IT DOES NOT....what am I going to do...I GUESS I'll GO RENT AN APARTMENT....So, I can tear up what ever I want to its not mine !!

Less jibberish and exclamation points please. You make no sense whatsoever. Lay off the crack and post something that makes sense.
