Do your research before you sign that lease!

I moved into Camden Farmers Market in Feb of this year. It has been nothing but a headache ever since. I during my first week, I was woke up to the sound of my security alarm going off in the middle of the night because it had a malfunction. After spending the remainder of the evening with a friend, it took 1 week and 3 trips by the maintenance people to get it fixed (of course, they said it was fixed each time they showed up).

Also, I've lived in apartments all of my adult life. This community is the loudest I've been in. The traffic from the street and freeway is ridiculous. If you can put up with the constant parade of homeless people walking by your window, gun shots, and break-ins and reported rapes, you will be happy here.

This complex is located in the downtown area where there isnt a lot of affordable housing. However, on weekends or after 6:00 during the week, downtown Dallas closes up. Dont try to find a grocery store (unless you want to spend an arm and leg at the UrbanMarket) and always keep your gas tank full, because a gas station is not to be found without driving North to CityPlace.

In addition, this is a gated community. However, gates never keep out those who are not suppose to be there. One thing that could help is if they would keep the gates in opperable condition. They are ALWAYS broken and left in the open position. Of course, thats when they bring by fliers telling you that some cars have been broken into and to be careful. Just hope yours isnt next.

Finally, the management staff is the worse. Keisha... OMG. Dont ask her to show you the actual unit that you'll be leasing. I was shown a unit in building 4 (the model). I was told that my actual unit would be in building 11. Where is that' "On the other side of the property". Not knowing where the unit is, I signed a lease on a unit that bumps up to the busiest freeway in Dallas. Need to discuss your account' Dont talk to Jeff... all you'll get from him is attitude. I guess they forget who pays the their salaries. I can promise that I will not be paying their salaries at the end of my lease. I know I can find a nicer unit in this city for the price that I am paying at Camden.
