We love living here!

My husband and I sold our home because of crime we personally experienced in the suburbs and moved to Farmers Market in March of 2006. We love the "urban" experience and don't mind the sirens, traffic noise, or helicopters.
No, it's not perfect, but nowhere is. No management company can guarantee your safety, regardless of gates or a courtesy patrol. IF the bad guy wants to get in, he'll get in-regardless of whether or not any gate is operational. The gates are merely a deterrent, and everyone knows that the bad guy can follow a resident in when the gates are working.
Crime is everywhere and if you didn't want to be around homeless people you shouldn't have moved downtown; it's no secret that downtown is where they live. You should have moved to the suburbs and continued to pay almost $3.00 a gallon for gas and spend an hour in traffic back and forth to work instead.
My experience has been that most often the people who get their cars broken into have tempted the criminal by leaving their CDs, laptops, sattelites, radar detectors, etc. in plain view in their car.
I must admit that I am a supervisor in property management, and although I don't work for Camden, I hear the same complaints I've read about this property from residents who live in the communities I supervise. So, once again, there isn't any Utopia where everything is perfect. Try owning a home where everything is your responsiblity and you still have crime, noisy neighbors, and a UPS driver who doesn't get your package to you.
We literally looked at 30 apartment communities in Uptown, Downtown, Las Colinas, Turtle Creek and Valley Ranch and found the location, price, and amenities to be the best value for the dollar.
It can be very tough adjusting to an apartment when you've lived in your own home for 15 years, but we are glad we made the move to Farmer's Market!
