About a year ago I was on this site reading the reviews of Camden, I remember sending them to my roommate saying "we cannot live here" because people were writing such horrible things. Well, Ive been here nearly a year and I can say that it is no where as bad as people say. So I thought I should write one now and address some of the concerns people mention on here.

Managment: The office staff is really nice, contrary to all the bitter comments on here, I've actually had to pay my rent late a couple of times and they were great about it. I go to the gym a lot so I know a lot of them by name.

Pets, yes there are a lot of dogs here, but there is NOT dog s&*t everywhere like some people say. Most (90%) of us with dogs clean up after our pets, and the apt complex has a service that comes around about once a week to clean up after the lazies that choose not to. It's actually a cool place to have a dog since you meet a lot of neighbors walking around in the morning and after work.

Safety; there are some issues here but this is not freakin Compton. I think a lot of the people that over react are people that have lived in the suburbs their whole life. YOU LIVE IN THE CITY, GET OVER IT. I have NEVER seen a homeless person in the complex, I have never been "attacked" "stabbed" "mugged" or "followed." Use common sense and you'll be ok. Dont leave crap in your car at night, lock your doors, you'll be fine. Yes, there are homeless people around here, not a lot, but some, but they wont do anything to you. Their poor, not psychopaths for God's sake. I encounter them a lot while walking my dogs, I say "hi" they say "hi" and we go on about our business. It's not scary. I had a bike stolen off my patio, which sucked, but s*&t happens sometimes, what can you do'

Noise: This would be my only complaint, but it's only b/c of one person. I have a neigbor that LOVES his car and thus feels the need to have a hyper sensitive alarm on it. It goes off A LOT, but I told mgmt and they sent him not one, but three letters, before the security guard personally came to my house and told me that they told him to tone down the alarm or they would tow his car. As far as the walls go, mine arent "paper thin" I never hear my neighbors so no complaints in that area.

Facilities/Ammenities: These apts come with cable included and a free washer and dryer; right there youre already saving at least $60 a month. The pools are kept really clean, and they always seem to be empty. One of the most bizarre things about this complex is that so many people live here, but you hardly ever see them. My apt overlooks the pool and there is (maybe) 2 people out there at any given time, during the weekday... no one. The weekends it gets a little more crowded, but nothing horrific like Addison Circles pools that turn into a theme park for drunkards.

Overall I would reccomend this place, its decently priced (about 3-500 less than anything else in downtown) the apts are big, there are nice pools, a decent gym, nice office staff, and great neighbors. If youre the type of person that will complain about everything and cannot deal with neighbors, and life in the city... then this is not for you. As for me, I'll be renewing my lease; as long as it doesnt increase too much. ;)
