Nice Place, Fair Prices

The negatives about Camden are almost entirely due to the nature of the downtown/Deep Ellum location (i.e., not the fault of the apartment's management). If you are living in this area, it is probably to be close to work or Baylor Hospital, etc., so you should already know what you're dealing with when it comes to this area of your typical, virtually-abandoned downtown area. I especially enjoyed the work-out facilities and the social activities. The apartment provided frequent social/happy hours, catered by places like Monica's Aca y Alla, and I even won $500 off a month's rent when I first moved in just by attending a social event and having my name drawn. I did experience varying degrees of noise, but usually only on a Friday or Saturday night, and only on occasion. I had one noisy neighbor next to my living room, but he/they moved out, and I never heard any noise next to my bedroom. I would definitely recommend a unit on the top (third) floor facing one of the many courtyards. The way the parking garages are set up, there was ample parking on the third floor and I could just walk a short distance to my front door without climbing stairs. My one bedroom apartment was a full 800 sqft., clean, had views of downtown, and a big walk-in closet and master bathroom. I found Green Mountain energy to be expensive, so you might want to shop around for an electric company, although I understand they all get their energy from TXU anyway.
