I've lived here for 2 years and am moving out soon. I am not moving as a result of the apartment complex, but have decided for a different location, no roommate, and I have to admit I was a bit freaked out from the shooting not to long ago. I live in the largest 2 bedroom in the apartments, not the lofts. One note to whoever is reading this, the reviews for the apartments and the lofts will be very different. The two were built in different years, and I think the lofts are in a more isolated location, so therefore less safe. Just my two cents.

Location -
Close to downtown, which can be a pro or a con, depending upon how you look at it. I work downtown, so I can walk on pretty days, or commute for less than a mile. Getting groceries or finding a Starbucks is quite a drive though. With the DART construction on Good Latimer, it takes awhile to get to 75 in order to get anywhere. If you are thinking about living here, make sure you are ok with bums being around. I've seen them digging in the trash (I threw away two pillows one night that were gone the next morning), washing in the fountains, and walking all around the complex.

Parking -
Pro: I've never had trouble parking in the parking garage. You park on the level you live, which is really nice if your apartment is near the parking garage. There are plenty of visitor spots.
Con: If you love your car, you might not want to park it here. The spots are small, lined with poles, and prone for accidents. Within the first 3 weeks of living here, someone ran into my car (I assume they parked in the parking garage to go out and a bit tipsy). Since then, I have gotten multiple door dings from the small parking spaces and a few more scratches from hit and runs like the first. I gave up trying to park in an area where people couldn't hit me as it didn't seem to work. Just a warning.

Noise -
I'm going to try to be impartial here. Noise wasn't a big issue for me the first year I lived here. The last year, I think the population of bums has increased and I've spent several nights listening to a bum scream about St. Louis. I'm not sure how to call the apartment security, but I think that would be a good thing to know if you move in here.

Construction -
I never hear my neighbors, but definitely do hear the traffic. I live on the interstate side and people are right on this site when they say people on this side have basically a vibrating apartment. Every time a big rig goes by, my entire apartment shakes. Other than that, I live on the third floor, so have high ceilings and noone above me to hear walking.

Maintenance -
During my 2 years here, I haven't really needed many repairs. However, when I have needed them, I've had to call multiple times and repeatedly ask for a status. If you don't keep on them, they won't care.

Office Staff -
The office staff is incompetent, not very friendly, and I'm honestly not sure why any of them still have jobs. Customer service is definitely not a positive part of this apartment complex. I have however had really good experiences with the accounting guy when my rent check was lost a few times, for somewhat of a plus.

Would I recommend - Yes, but there are stipulations. I would definitely NOT recommend this apartment complex for a single woman. If you have a roommate, or are male, I think you'd be ok, but still would need to be careful with your surroundings. If you're looking for a quiet apartment, this is not the place for you. For the price and the downtown location, it's really a fair starter apartment for people new to Dallas and want the downtown life at a reasonable price. I hope this has helped at least someone!
