Property Management Needs to Wake Up!

I lived at this community for 2 years. I had numerous problems while here. Whether it be a faulty gate with NO WAY to get to my own residence or having things stolen off of my 2nd story balcony. I will say that it is a cute little community, but isn't worth the money considering security is a joke and the office team has terrible communication skills. Though located in a harsh part of town, the security team is run by a woman that is at least in her late 50s who drives around in a golf cart on her cell phone 80% of the time. She hassled me about having my 8 pound dog on a leash more than anything. Now what's more important, the shootings, car theft and robberies that happened while I lived in the community, or my miniature schnauzer being on a leash' You decide. As far as the office team, they have no organized, set way of doing anything. I work in property management myself and the way they run that office is inconsistent and unpredictable.
All in all, not a good experience here. They don t take complaints and the safety of their tenants serious.

I disagree, but then again everyone has different experiences. I've lived down here going on three years and yes, I have had issues, but thats to be expected when living anywhere in a downtown setting. I've also lived in downtown Honolulu, the East Village of NYC, and London and these complaints are pretty common. Car break ins typically happen because people leave valuables out in open view, and as far as I know there have never been any shootings in this complex besides a stray bullet that hit a resident over a year ago (this was not from within the complex though, the person shot the gun from a car on a freeway that runs next to downtown). As for the security guard, shes awesome. I'm in awe that she can be in so many places at once. I cant tell you how many times I've been walking my dogs at night and I see her 3-4 times just on the walk, shes everywhere! I truly think that her presence does deter crime because she keeps a watch out on our cars, and the property in general. However, I would reccomend that the complex hire her some help, its a big place for one person to watch alone. I live by the office, she has never been anything but extremely nice to me. Also, she probably asked you to keep your dog on a leash for its safety and for the safety of other dogs on the property. All in all, great place to live, I love my apartment and the office staff has been great with any issue that I have ever had here. Some people just complain too much and get upset if everything in life doesnt go exactly how they want it.

The more I read these responses to negative reviews the more I notice each posting looks like property management trying to say that the person who reviewed is wrong...I might be wrong but this doesn't seem right! There is still a lot of crime at this complex and if the security guard is working she doesn't appear to be doing her job!

I think that is the most sexest comment I've ever heard. It's sad that in today's society that people like you are still taking up space. I'm glad you decided not to move in here so I wouldnt have to worry about a jerk like you living next to me! A woman can do just as good of a job as a man can and the only reason she may be on the phone is to find out whats going on or where she needs to be. Did any of you ever think about that? I've asked her to walk me to my apartment before because I came home extremely late and was a little inebriated and wanted to make sure I got myself home safely and she without any hesitation escorted me to my apartment No Questions Asked. So screw you and you ignorant opinion.

Sexist or not, she's nearing retirement. I'm not a jerk -- geez! I was just saying, we don't have a bunch of police officers nearing retirement out there protecting us. They move on to be a bailiff or manage the force... it should be the same with this old woman. It's also sad that you were too inebriated and driving around like that. Screw me and my ignorant self, but at least I don't get so drunk that I need an old lady to guide me. You're the reason I date my own gender. Whiny little thing, you are.
