A few bad apples can ruin the whole bunch

I have lived here 4 months now and I have kept a list of complaints from the day I moved in (35 incidents so far).
99% of the problem is noise, and 99% of the noise problems come from a small handful of tenants.
I finally complained about one noise issue and it seems to have been resolved.
No problems with that tenant since.
The management seems ready to resolve any issues.
There are a few minor maintenance issues I need to bring up but they are minor (a stove burner not working, one bath diverter is loose, etc.)
The music one tenant plays is usually very loud and they keep the windows and doors open so you can hear it from the street.
Sometimes I can hear it from my apartment.
This tenant usually plays this NOISE during the day but it's still very annoying when I happen to be home.
Another tenant doesn't play the stereo too awfully loud but it's right under me so I hear and feel it whenever it's on.
Some visitors play their car stereos very loud late at night and many times there's a parking lot party till 2 am.
Every day I am faced with a loud car stereo from somebody, and it's usually one of only about 3 or 4 tenants.
If these "bad apples" were weeded out this would be a great place to live.
Seems I'm the only one who has a problem with it so I'm reluctant to complain.
My lease is up in September and I will not renew unless things quiet down around here.
My apartment is clean and comfortable, but ignorant neighbors and loud music are NOT something I am willing to live with.
Parking is OK for me because I have 2 spots assigned to me (Because I have a 2 bedroom apt.) but there are only a couple of visitor spaces.
There are about 1/2 dozen loud and unruly small children running loose and you can hear them blocks away.
There is no playground so it's not the best place for kids.
Overall....
If you don't mind the noise, Carillon House is alright.
It's in a nice and convenient part of North Dallas.
The neighborhood seems just about as safe as any other.
The surrounding apartment complexes are much nicer than this one, but this is cheaper.
If the noise bothers you, keep looking.
If it doesn't, here's an affordable place to live.

Last Thursday night my car window was smashed and my stereo was ripped out.
Friday night I traded it in on a newer, nicer vehicle.
Monday night I look out to see my new truck is gone.
Since I worked the weekend, and it was a holiday weekend I was not able to get a new parking sticker for my new vehicle.
City Towing hauled it away and I had to pay $148.30 plus $35.48 cab fare to get it back.
If this is the way Carillon House is going to treat its tenants I do NOT recommend this place to anyone, unless you do not have a car and you are deaf.
Then It would be just fine.
I was raped of $180.00 because I did not bend over backwards to make sure my vehicle had a parking sticker.
I am beginning to feel like Carillon House is run by Nazis.
Management says there is nothing they can do and that they did not tow the vehicle.
City Towing did.
DUH! Who authorized them to tow it' Huh' Huh'
Dealer tags and a window sticker still in view should tell you something! Maybe there's no parking sticker on the car yet.
Cha-Ching! The towing co.
gets another $150.
I have changed my recommendation to NO!!!

I have finally moved out of Carillon House.
Things were really starting to go downhill.
There were no more break-ins regarding my vehicle (I did install a car alarm) but some kids frequently played dodgeball next to the fence on the West side of the complex, which was very close to my vehicle.
I did recently notice a small dent in my fender caused by a wild dodgeball throw (which happened to be a BASKETBALL!)
Here is my final assessment:
- The place has really started to go downhill.
Some new people moved in recently in a neighboring apartment and since then there has been frequent late-night foot traffic.
- My wife and I have recently started being panhandled to for spare change or a smoke.
- Some tenants (Se habla Espanol') (that was a hint) continue to discard the trash from their cars into the parking lot.
Is this the way they clean their cars in Mexico'
- Shopping carts have recently started appearing in front of some of the apartments.
- The bottom step leading to the upper appartments in my building has been broken for a couple of months now.
They said they were getting a welder out on Monday to fix it....
that was 2 months ago.
This is a real safety hazard, especially if you are walking down the stairs and don't know about it or are not paying attention.
My apartment was great.
I loved the layout, plenty of room LOTS of closet space, New carpet installed when I moved in.
It's just the building in general...
it was a thorn in the side of the neighborhood.
All the other apartment communities neighboring this one were beautiful and well-kept...
this was "ghetto" in comparison, but a little cheaper than the others.

the mexican part was not appropriate. i have seen plenty of different races that throw trash out their window. you do not need to state the race of whoever did the crime just state plainly what they did.
thanks!
