Where do I start'

I lived here for eight months. The attraction with most is THE PRICE! It was very cheap when I moved in - but for some reason because of it's great location the prices are now comparable with apartments that are decades younger. The Carlisle was built in the mid sixties - before the moon landing. Modern amenities (washer/dryer, newer appliances, cabinet space) are not in the mix here. AC and heating is old - again, part of it's charm. The elevators - which were scary - at least was a nice feature for 2nd and 3rd floor dwellers, and also for moving.
Gables once owned it and it was managed adequately - although the staff was sleazy and tried to tap with me with huge cleaning and carpet replacement bill - for carpet that was old and stained from when I moved in. I received that bill ($1200), 6 months after moving out after repeatedly asking for any deposits I had coming. I paid $600 alone in pet deposits for two dogs. I told them to F**K themselves and didn't pay it and threatened legal action. It never showed on my credit report.
I don't think Gables runs it now - so it's lost even credibility more I'm sure.
