Wost Management Ever... Be Warned!

I lived in Carrollton Park Apartments for 1-1/2 years and at first, was treated very well. When I was about 2 months into my lease...things changed. I had to park around the corner of the building every night. They charge an extra amount every month for an extra covered parking spot which is ridiculous if you have more than one car/people living in the apartment. Yes, if you live in the back of the complex, you will have more parking. However, it is really dark back there. For those people who get an apartment close to the front office (like I had) you don't have any extra parking. I had several problems with the air conditioning not working properly and they would just at freon (the coolant) to keep it going. When the lock on the front door stopped locking I called immediately to get them to come and fix it because I had to leave for work and it took them 3 HOURS to come and fix it. I had told them I needed to leave and the lady in the office told me it would be just a couple of minutes, which like I said, turned out to be way longer than that. They tend to not call you back and when you call to speak to someone they have gone out to lunch or are showing an apartment. This is all the time. When I called once to talk to the manager, she was out to lunch 3 times throughout the day.
To the person who responded to the other person... yes, they cannot help that there are people stealing the checks/money orders out of the complex, however, when you don't get home before 6:00 pm (when the close) and you leave for work before they open, it makes it just a bit difficult to walk the rent in. Also, on that comment, the lady should have offered an appology. I am sure they didn't. It's never their fault and they are always blaming it on something or someone else.
When I moved out, they did manage to take my whole deposit. I was hardly in my apartment and kept it VERY clean and they said that the walls needed to be painted. I could have painted the walls myself and bought the paint and paid $160 less. They are really expensive in rent and hike up the price when you sign a new contract. They moved mine up $150 which is a little ridiculous since I was signing a new lease with them. It was almost as if they were trying to get rid of me.
Anyway, I hope that if you chose to live in this complex that the management is not as sloppy and you have things handled properly. Please let this be a warning.

Hi there! Very interesting post about the paint. In the lease it says the paint they choose is supposed to last a very long time. According to them all that should be needed at move out is to wipe the walls down. I hardly believe this! After living here for a YEAR I had to repaint my bathroom because it starting looking terrible! Ugh! This apartment sucks! I am moving out in December and can't wait!
