This apartment is where you go when you have no where to go. I am going to school and my lease had ended but couldn t afford my old place and school so I found this place. My biggest regret is that I signed a 12 month lease. At least now I have plenty of money for my books!
The facility is very old built back in 1967 so there are no cable services available. This makes it hard to get cable TV, high speed internet, and digital phone service. The interiors of these apartments look like a 5 minute job. There are literally bugs painted on the walls! This is probably a result of fumigating and not washing the walls before using a spray painter. All appliances look like they came from a thrift store. Last but not least there are problems everywhere that would take months to fix if you wanted a presentable apartment. The Mirrors are oxidized, vents are falling apart, mine to the point where I can t change my filter, there are missing tiles when they promised carpet, the doors have huge gaps under them, some of the windows don t latch closed, and I can go on but will stop. As far as the outside you would think marti gras just ended.
There are some pluses! One all utilities paid so you don t have to worry about the bills. I am a big coral reef aquarium fan and mine uses a HQI metal halide fixture using a 150 watt bulb which I don t worry about anymore. The community is loud by day but the place is a ghost town by 10pm. There are a lot of people who don t want to get in trouble with the law so they respect others so they can not get in trouble. This complex is minutes from Loop 12 and I-30. Last the nearest shopping/eating/entertainment area is literally 2 miles away. Wal-Mart, Starbucks, Chili s, Lowes, Staples, and so many more newly developed stores are here.
In a nut shell if you want to save some money and don t mind living in the ghetto this is your place. No bells or whistles, amenities, service, or frills. This is like going to that motel in the middle of nowhere that you stopped by because you needed a place to sleep and it s only transitional. I found out later that there are apartments in downtown Dallas that are equivalent in price with much better amenities, service, and looks. My mistake for not really looking everything over with a fine tooth comb.
