Seriously...some of the things on here are ridiculous! Ok, let s address the security issue. No one is guaranteed safety, you can t. Does it really matter if you live in a gated community' Could someone that wanted to rob you not just follow you into the gate' Because I'm so sure that most people that live in a gated community wait for the gate to close after them so no one can enter the property. Please. Not only that, I've been a resident here for almost 3 years...and half of what is being said is almost funny. You decided to rent an apartment that was built in the 70's! Come on people! The appliances are not the exact same, because I m pretty sure they would look 10x worse and not work! But yes, the property is old. If you want the upgrades (hardwood floors, stainless steel, lighting in every room), then by all means, go right behind The Corners and pay $1200 a month for a one bedroom at the Dakota! To break it down, you are paying for location! And if you don t like the village area, walk your happy ass to uptown and look at those prices. Good luck with that. As far as Smith goes, personally, I've never had any problems at all. I ve heard about apts getting broken into, but it wasn t at The Corners....it was a property closer to Skillman. Not only that, but if you cared about your safety...go to a crime watch meeting. It sounds ---, but I did, and you'd be very surprised. You would find out things like apts being broken into didn t happen at The Corners, you would find out that Smith actually caught and prosecuted the guys that were doing it, and you would find out that Dallas in its self is probably not the safest place to live. So if you don t feel safe, then move to the suburbs where you can monitor every single person that drives down your street. The truth is, The Corners is a fine place to live for the prices, location and for the age. Don t you think it would have been torn down a long time ago if it wasn t' So if you want to live at The Corners when it is over $1000 a month for a 1 bedroom, then go ahead, but I'd rather not.
