I've lived in this community for a year & a few months now. The property is clean and well kept (and obnoxiously well-lit with invasive orange lighting that blares into our bedroom at night, even through tightly-closed blinds).
As for safety, we've never had our apartment burgled, however someone broke into one of our cars, which had a garage door clicker in it, which then allowed them to steal out of our unattached garage (which we never leave open). Compared to some of our more affluent neighbors, we keep nothing of major value in there, which makes me think it was just some dumb kids and not a professional burglar.
As for service, I've called maintenace more than a dozen times, mostly for inconsequential things (a door handle here, a faulty light switch there, etc), and yet still they seem to do as little as financially possible to correct the situation (ie instead of fixing the sink sprayer, they just switched our faucet with an older one).
The staff in the front office is distant but amiable.
I wish there was more of a community feel- I think it would stop everyone from neglecting to clean up behind their dogs. I also wish it was less expensive, I mean we don't even get hard wood floors for $1200/month. And with maintenance cutting every financial corner, it makes me wonder where the money goes...
So long as it stays quiet (and no golf balls ever break my car windsheild), I will continue to renew my lease because The Courts of Bent Tree definitely feel less cookie-cutter and more like home than any of the other complexes in the North Dallas area.

I recently moved here and absolutely love it. Two neighbors knocked on my door to introduce themselves before I even finished moving in. Maintenance repaired my few small requests within 24 hours. As for the wood floors and $1200 rent - you knew what you were getting and what you were paying before you moved in didn't you?
