The apartment is beautiful: dark cream colored walls, crown moulding, updated hardware, updated silver-finished lighting and fixtures. I live in a 2bed/2bath apt with a garage and pay less than $1100 a month. It's a reasonable price for the area (the market rate of the houses in the neighborhood start at about 0.5 million) especially being so close to the Bent Tree Country Club (the apt complex overlooks some of the greens and tennis courts). The area is safe, but being a block east of the Dallas Tollway, occassionally the traffic sounds resound into the complex. My neighbors are all friendly but pretty much everyone keeps to themselves.
The grounds are very well maintained and the pool area is gorgeous.
The work-out room is a joke though: one elliptical that has seen better days, two treadmills that look as if they were the state of the art machines in the 1980s, and a crude resistant weight 4 sided bench area, along with some stationary exercise bikes. I wish they had made some improvements to the work-out facilities as they had projected to.
The biggest, hugest drawback to this place is the high cost of electricity. Last summer the average bill (I know from talking to neighbors about it) was over $250/month. This winter, I had bills of over $400.00!!! I know energy costs have risen, but this was ridiculous...esp. when homeowners who have larger property pay less than I.
Overall, safety, comfort, and aesthetics keep this place thriving. Management has been good to me, especially since I had a crazy situation with my irresponsible roommate. They were sure to be fair and intervene as necessary. Would stay if I had another stable roommate to split the rent/bills with, but I'm leaving Texas for grad school. P0MtU6TIdDkM23RTonAS

Not too bad?? I have a 2br/2ba and pay $1200 a month...not sure why you're able to pay $100 a month less than I do. I'm also surprised to hear about the updated lighting and fixtures. I have old gold fixtures, 1980's looking light fixtures and my walls are white. The front landscaping is nice but areas behind the buildings where I walk my dogs are awful. The current management does nothing to entice residents to want to stay so as soon as my lease is up, I'm outta there!!
